How We Got Started
My father started sweeping chimneys in the 1970's and built up a customer base covering Fife, Tayside and surrounding areas. In 2008 I joined the family business to learn the ropes and gain the skills required in becoming a competent chimney sweep. I completed the HETAS service and maintenance course in 2021 to become an approved HETAS sweep. In 2023 I did further training and joined the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. I'm reliable, prompt and most importantly clean and tidy. I sweep open fires, wood burners and multi fuel burners.  If you have any flue related questions please don't hesitate to call.
Services
Traditional Sweeping
Traditional chimney sweeping method uses a round brush (the size or diameter of the brush used being dependant upon the diameter of the flue to be swept) which is attached to a rod and fed up the flue to the top, it is passed a minimum of four times up and down the flue, the soot falls into the fireplace and is then vacuumed up and taken away.
Power Sweeping
Power sweeping method uses firm or flexible rods (depending on the flue) a brush or whip head is attached to the tip, once at the top a drill is attached to spin the rods and brush this strips the soot and deposits from the flue/liner. The deposits are then vacuumed and taken away.
Nest Removal
Birds nests can be a pest and difficult to remove and are protected by Law from March to August so must be removed outwit this time. Depending on the flue type rods will be used with a nest attachment to poke and pull at the nest until it breaks up and falls to the fire place, then gradually building up the brush size to ensure all of the nest is removed. This can take some time so please let us know if you think there is a nest to pencil in more time.
Stove Servicing
Stoves are quite hardy but do still need some maintenance from time to time to keep them safe so if you need your rope replaced or the bricks have seen better days please call and get a service booked to keep the appliance running at its best.

Burn Right
Real fireplaces are now incredibly popular in the UK. Many of us enjoy the appeal and comfort of a woodburning stove or open fire, and for some people it has once again become an important part of home heating.
But if you don’t know how to use your fire correctly, you could not only be wasting money, but damaging your appliance, your chimney and polluting the environment. Please have a look at the Burn Right website for helpful tips and videos. www.burnright.co.uk
Ready to Burn
Air quality and wood fuel has become a hot topic and stove owners are being asked to think about the impact of burning poor quality firewood has on the environment. A stove is only as good as the wood it burns and so the Ready to Burn stamp of approval will reassure those who purchase firewood/briquettes with its logo that they are dry enough and immediately ready to burn.
